Tampa, FL- Maddie Pollard, captain of the Alliance FC Premier 1 u14 Girls team and a Super Y League National camp participant has agreed to give frequent updates on her National Camp experience. Follow her at the Tampa, Florida Camp here. Maddie is one of a four Alliance Academy participants in the girls camp. The other three are Jenna Winkel, Sophie Rammal, and Sophie Maccagnone. We wish everyone great luck at camp! 2010 Try-Out Dates We will be posting exact dates and times in the next few weeks but, for now save these dates. Saturday, June 12th and Sunday, June 13th will be reserved for Premier League (MSPSL) and Regional League (MRL) try-outs. These try-outs will be open to u13-u18 Boys and Girls. Monday, June 14th through Thursday June 17th, 2010 will be reserved for GVSA try-outs. These try-outs will be open to u8-u18 Boys and Girls. TOURNAMENT UPDATE u17 Boys Win Group at Ohio Elite Showcase March 1st, 2010
Grand Rapids, MI- Congratulations to the u17 Boys Academy team for winning their bracket at the Ohio Elite Boys Showcase. The event came with a price as captain and long time team member Manny Weldemicael was rushed to the hospital with a broken clavicle. Everyone wishes Manny a speedy recovery. On the field, the boys won 1-0, 2-0, and needed a tie against Fairfax (VA) in the final match to win the division outright. Tariq Akeel scored late in the 2nd half and Alliance carried of the play through the match. It seemed as if a win was in the books but, the Alliance boys had to settle for a tie after a clear mistake in the back gifted the Fairfax team a goal. UPDATED FEBRUARY 26TH SUPER Y TRY-OUT UPDATE Alliance Academy Announces u14 Boys Try-Outs February 9th, 2010 Grand Rapids, MI- Zsolt Bertalan has recently announced that he will be holding u14 Boys Super Y League Try-outs. We anticipate participants to come from Detroit and Grand Rapids. March 7th 12pm-1:50pm with a parent meeting afterward. Woodland Sports, Kentwood Alliance Academy Announces u15 and u16 Girls Try-Outs Gene Harkins and Henry Steinwasher recently announced their try-outs for the 2010 Summer Super Y League Teams. These teams will be very competitive and will attract players from Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Novi, Livonia, Macomb County, and many other communities. March 14th 12:15pm-1:45pm for u13 Girls 1:45pm-3:15pm for u15 Girls 3:15-4:45pm for u16 Girls Total Soccer, Fraser Pay $12 Try-Out fee at the Door! No pre registration is necessary. Tournament Overview- While the Alliance Academy u13 Boys did not advance at the President's Day Cup, they walked away from this prestigious tournament with a respectable 3-1 record. Their only loss come at the hands of the eventual tournament champions (VSA) and they beat three ranked teams. Further proving their competence, the Michigan boys were the only team to score on VSA in their 3-2 seesaw group match. Congratulations to Luis, Bradley, Isaac, Patryk, Lukas, Derek, Connor, Jake, Vicent, Jamal, Jake, Dean, Costa, Joseph, Donovan, Luis, and Coach Mark on a successful trip. | Featured Photo |
