Schedules- Super Y League Schedules can be found at Super Y Home. Schedules are typically posted in April. Home Games- Home games will be played in Grand Rapids. Away Games- Away games will be played mid-week against 'local' opponents from Michigan and Northern Indiana. Neutral Site Games- Teams will play two (2) or three (3) weekends at neutral sites. While the schedules are not out, we are expecting to play at Lowell, Indiana and Fort Wayne, IN. The format of these weekends are meant to be one (1) game per day but, we may play two (2). Coaching Staff- We have an excellent staff who are 100% dedicated to developing players and competing for league and National Championships. While their experiences range, the staff has won a total of seven (7) state titles and four (4) national titles in different leagues/competitions. Our staff provide extra opportunities for athletes to play on different teams and you will see them working closely together during training and matches. Player Pools- Typically, our rosters include players from a wide geographic region. In 2009, we had players from Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Toledo, Chicago (IL), Muskegon, and other communities. Any player within the Midwest can take advantage of our program. Refunds- We do not offer refunds for registration or coaching fees but, in the case of an injury, we typically offer a credit to be used in the future. Number of Games- Teams play between eight (8) and twelve (12) league games as provided by the Super Y League. In 2010, we will offer at least ten (10) matches for every team. Roster Size- We will roster eighteen (18) to twenty-four (24) players per team. We are allowed to dress eighteen (18) per game. Given injuries and summer commitments, we rarely have an issue with too many players on a roster and additional opportunities are often available. High School Soccer- There will be no conflicts with high school soccer and high school soccer players are eligible to compete in the league, the National Tournament, and the Super Y League ODP camp. Super Y League National Tournament- The National Tournament is held every November in Tampa, Florida and includes the top teams from every Super Y region across the country. In our first season (2008), we qualified two teams and competed against teams from New Jersey, Florida, California, Georgia, and others. Teams are seeded into four (4) groups with the winners advancing to semi-finals and the others playing a fourth consolation match. We have sent five (5) teams to the National Tournament Super Y League Olympic Development Camp- Super Y has ODP status through the United States Soccer Federation along with USYS ODP and the National Academy for u16 and u18s. Players are selected to this National Camp in Florida when they are recognized by opposing coaches during league play. The players who are recognized the most by opposing coaches at the end of the season are invited to the February camp. Through this camp, USSF National Youth Staff coaches scout players for inclusion on the appropriate national teams. In 2009, thirteen (13) players were selected to the National ODP camp while three (3) were named as alternates. League Fees- Follow this link for information on Alliance Academy Super Y League fees. We are confident that these fees represent a tremendous value in youth soccer. The league (Super Y) is dedicated to running the only complete national league and does a great job of recognizing players, teams, and coaches for their accomplishements. Their stringent minimum requirements and standards ensure that a certain level is maintained on and off the field. Super 11 Clubs- Each year, the Super Y League recognizes the top 22 clubs for their accomplishments on and off the field. Consideration is given to the club's overall record along with the club's ability to abide by minimum standards. In 2009, Alliance Academy was recognized by the league as the 17th ranked club out of 110+ across the country. All-League Teams- Sixteen (16) players are named from each age group to the Super Y League All-League team in December. In 2009, five (5) Alliance Academy players were named to their respective All-League Teams. Call Abrahm Shearer (Director) at 616-682-4700 for additional questions. |
